On December 8, 2017 Rashad announced his retirement from the NFL.
Rashad was recognized for many awards throughout his football career. In 2016, he was awarded the United Way of NYC Hometown Hero Award at the Gridiron Gala. Rashad was also a a Byron ‘Whizzer’ White Award Top 5 Finalist for both 2015 and 2016. The Byron ‘Whizzer’ White Award is one of the highest awards the NFLPA can bestow on a player and recognizes an athlete for their philanthropic efforts off the field. He was also awarded the 2016 FedEx Ground Player of the Week Award. In honor of the award, $2,000 was donated to the American Red Cross in Rashad’s name.
